Development requirements

TopShopper can be integrated using and development system. Once installed it can be configured over the Web. The Shopping Cart will run in any browser as straight forward HTML code is used. There is some use of JavaScript but this is limited to form validation which increases the functionality. However, if no Java is available on the browser, validation is carried out server-side.

Hosting Requirements

TopShopper works best on Windows servers running ASP 2 or better or on Unix/Linux systems running PHP3 or better. There are some compatability issues where other combinations are used (e.g. Chillisoft ASP running on Unix). Please email for advice before downloading and testing. Alternatively use the diagnostic tool in the downloaded files to check for compatability. It is also important to retain the names of the files and folders supplied with TopShopper , as with any website. The main folder (shopcart) must reside on the site root directory. All configuration files can be edited through the Web although direct manipulation of the products file may be easier where large numbers of products are concerned.

Credit/Debit Cards

A secure server will be required for taking credit/debit card information. The credit card scripts can be hosted separately on the secure server or the system can be made to link directly with WorldPay. Topdown will normally modify the appropriate scripts to link with any other payment system free of charge.
